I’m Sarah Aston, I live in Kilcreggan, on the banks of the River Clyde with my husband and two young sons. I have a passion for yoga and sharing its many amazing benefits. I am a qualified 200 hour Hatha Raja Yoga Instructor, I trained under the expert tuition of Joanne Lockhart at YogaJo's Yoga Teacher Training School, Milngavie, Glasgow .
I came to yoga some years ago purely for the physical aspect, with the aim of becoming more flexible and toned. I quickly realised it was so much more. After the first few classes I noticed my energy levels had increased and I generally felt lighter and happier. After a few months of regular practice my anxiety and stress levels had significantly reduced. As a direct result of yoga I am healthier and happier than I have ever been and I want to share this transformational practice with you.
I completed a 30 hour course on Yoga for stress and anxiety run by the Minded Institute, and I have recently qualified a Pre & Post Natal Yoga Teacher with Yogakidz.
Hatha Yoga is great for absolute beginners or for the more experienced yogi looking for a slower paced class. As well as learning the basic postures, it is great for building strength, increasing flexibility and learning breath control. As well as the asana practice, we will practice breathing techniques and finish with a guided relaxation.
This class targets particular energy channels and organs of the body relevant to the season, based upon the energy of that season. Typically the flow will change from week to week, but will focus on certain postures suitable for that season. Seasonal flow is suitable for everyone and postures can be modified to suit all abilities. The class will finish with a guided relaxation.
This is a dynamic class combining posture with fluid movement and the rhythm of the breath to deliver a powerful, flowing, energetic style of practice. Dynamic Hatha helps build strength, improves flexibility, calms the mind and aids well-being. The class will finish with guided relaxation to help de-stress.
